The Urban Rebounder is the only Rebounder endorsed and used in the gyms because we do not have any of the problems that other rebounder's have.....such as, springs breaking in the folding leg, sodering that is inferior on the frame, skirts (that protect the springs) rip and are too large, which get in the way of the participant exercising, stitching which rips and comes apart from the mat and rubber tips that break because of the low-grade rubber that is used......the group of Urban Rebounding trainers, who teach the program in 3000 plus gyms, have tested Needaks, Rebound Air and many other brands and have reported all the above problems.
When the Urban Rebounding team designed the Urban Rebounder we took all of these above mentioned problems into account with our design.

Urban Rebounding - A FUN Workout!
|
Urban Rebounding is created by J.B. Berns, called one of the top personal trainers in the country by Fitness Magazine. Berns has a background in martial arts that The Urban Rebounding workout is based on. This workout uses martial arts and core abdominal postures to strengthen your core, burn fat, and improve your balance and coordination.
New York Magazine ranked Urban Rebounding # 1. A growing number of books are devoting whole chapters to the benefits of rebounding: Anthony Robbins’ “Unlimited Power”, “Fit For Life”, and “The Detox Book” Urban Rebounder Difference.
I liked this workout because it reminded me of jumping on the bed when I was a kid-- so much fun!
It really improves your balance and coordination, and until you get some(coordination that is), you can use the stabilizing bar. There is no pain or stress on your joints with this workout.
In just an hour a week(20 minutes a day, 3 times a week), you can see the benefits of the Urban Rebounding workout.
And the rebounder folds up to fit under the bed or behind the couch.
The Urban Rebounding System comes with:
- Folding, Gym-Quality Urban Rebounder
- Stabilizing Bar
- 3 DVD's or VHS Videos
- Bonus Carrying bag

The urban rebounder is incredible.
It is my favorite workout.
I have been trying to get my husband to do this with me, but he is still reluctant, even though, I have lost almost a full 16 pounds.

Ok, I`m one of those people who has falled for too many infomercials thru the years, so I was skeptical about this. What made it different from the much less expensive tramps available at the store? Well, when my mother (who is 66 and an absolute couch potato) expressed an interest in trying this, that was all I needed to give it a try.
The difference between the UR and a cheaper one from the store can be felt and heard. The support is MUCH better, really good bounce and if you are on the higher end of the weight limit, you won`t feel like you`re going to fall thru or the fabric will rip - at least that`s what mom says and she`s usually negative about everything. The springs make little to no noise, which is a big difference from the cheaper ones, and they give a great bounce back; and the easy to attach stability bar does wiggle some, but then it isn`t meant for leaning on. The stability bar is great when learning the moves or for someone who likes that extra bit of security or needs a little help with balance. I think that is what gets mom using it, she feels safe because she can rest her hands on the bar so she doesn`t feel like she`s going to bounce off the side.
I didn`t find set up difficult at all, just follow the instructions - basically you unfold it, gently pull the legs out so they pop over their posts, and attache the bar. Some people find folding it difficult, and I will say it was a bit of a challenge the first time, but once you get the feel for how to do it, and if you have help from someone else to stand on the opposite side as where you are lifting, folding it becomes very easy and quick.
When we first got it I jumped on and did a few basic jumping jacks and basic high stepping jog in place as I had seen in the infomercial, and both times I was winded in a few minutes. I`m now working my way up to make it through the full workout using the DVD. My mom, who hates to exercise, has actually been using it - she doesn`t do the DVD workouts yet, but she does get on each morning for five minutes and do simple moves to get her heart rate up and circulation going. She wouldn`t do this if she didn`t enjoy it, or if it caused any aches or pains.
I have two bad knees, and do find there are a few moves I can`t do full out (so I modify or do them smaller,) but others, as long as I focus on form and land on my heels or flat foot, instead of my toes as jumping tends to make us want to do, then using it actually makes the stiffness in both knees feel much better. Mom has the beginning stages of arthritis, and her doctor said that as long as it doesn`t hurt, he`s glad to see her moving. If you have a medical condition, it is always best to check with your doctor first. What works for one may not work for another. For us, we lucked out, and we both can use the UR without pain, and are seeing the benefits of bouncing.
The DVDs are mixed. Some are good, some are cheesey. All in all, and I hate to say this because I am one of those people that can`t stand it when others say working out is fun, because I hate working out... but this work out is fun! It is a nice addition to other workout gear and programs, and after a month of using it, I`m not bored with it, which is unlike me. So five stars from me. This was one product from an infomercial that turned out to be better than expected and worth the money.
