Any advanced fitness trainer will tell you, the most effective movement for abdominal development is the crunch. There are dozens of variations on the same movement and no shortage of gym machines to help focus and isolate the abdominals while performing the all-important crunch. Hardly a month goes by without another miracle ab machine making its debut. Mostly they are based around the same principle – isolate and work the abdominal muscles with a crunch movement.
I am often asked f these devices are worth the money, and whether they live up to their billing. My answer is usually; they serve a good purpose, but offer nothing really new.
I reviewed the new Ab lounge 2 recently and I am pleasantly surprised by it. The basic premise is what they term a ‘jack knife’ routine, which allows for a very full range of motion. It’s very easy work any part of the abdominals in isolation, or to train the entire set of muscles in one fluid motion.
Another thing I like about the Ab Lounge is that it is very comfortable to use. There is no strain on the back and neck – both are very well supported.
The Ab Lounge is well made, easy to store, and adjustable to all fitness levels. If you are going to by an ‘Ab machine’ for home use – this one is a good choice. But, you need to use it regularly to see results.
