We have seen a lot of home gyms in the past and often look with a hesitant eye at what each package offers. Some home gyms are great, others not so much and some do not live up to their boastful taglines. After trying the Total Gym 1500, we have found that this machine is one of the few products that really lives up to its product statements.
There are many great attributes associated with this product. The first of which, you will be happy to know, is that the Total Gym comes fully assembled right out of the box. This is wonderful not only for the novice who may have difficulty assembling heavy parts but it is great for people who hate putting things together. Needless to say the Total Gym 1500 got on our good side early on in this product test.
Using the machine was very easy as well. Designed using body weight as a resistance, the Total Gym 1500 makes working out simple and very effective. Instead of heavy weights to add or bands to clip on, simply raising the incline will increase resistance. This type of resistance suits not only the beginner but also the seasoned athlete who will be able to have an intense workout at steep inclines.
The range of exercises available with the Total Gym is quite diverse. Included with the Total Gym is a comprehensive exercise booklet featuring beginner, intermediate and advanced exercise programs. With these exercises you can firm your stomach, tighten and tone hips, define arms and shoulders, trim thighs and buttocks and lots of other great exercises. Also included in the booklet are exercises that will improve your performance in specific sports such as skiing, golf and tennis.
Overall we found the Total Gym 1500 a very pleasurable workout experience. It's easy to open,
easy to use, and easy to put away (the Total Gym folds easily to slide under a bed or place in a closet). If you want simplicity in a home gym you may have to give the
Total Gym 1500 a try.
