My best friend used it on my hair for graduation and I was really impressed with it. I`m of a mixed heritage and my hair is very thick and curly, so at first I really didnt think it would work. I added a little vaseline to my scalp and ends because my hair gets pretty dry. It came out great, so my mom ordered one for me and i`ve been getting a lot of compliments ever since. I love it and I love that I dont have to touch it up so much. I watched the dvd and recently learned how to curl it. Plus its saving me about $70 bucks to go to the hair salon! So shoot, i`m all for it!

i have extremely thick curly hair and it usually takes about 2.5 hours to straighten my hair.
i used to have to blow it dry with a brush, then straighten it using tiny pieces, and so i finally gave up and never got it straightened.
i decided to try the maxiglide and i absolutely love it!
it takes me about 1 hour total straighten it and it looks amazing!
some of the complaints people have ...like it melting or it being too heavy...are ridiculous.
as soon as im done with it i turn it off and unplug it...and take the plate off. and as for it being too heavy...do some push ups..its not bad.
and if my arm doesn`t get tired with the bush on top of my head..no ones should. also, some people say they use it all the time and all it did was ruin their hair. READ THE STINKIN DIRECTIONS. it says in the booklet..DO NOT USE THE COMBED PLATE MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK. any straightener ..if used too much..can ruin your hair. i love this product and will never use another straightener again!

I love this product. I am AA and I relax and color my shoulder length locks so I must take care not to damage it. The Maxi is awsome b/c it gets my hair salon straight. It looks just like I walked out of the salon. It takes ten min. to do my whole head and it is silky, shniny, bouncy and straight. People, this is no gimmick try it and you will LOVE IT!!! too.

I have thick curly hair. Always frizzy & hard to manage.
When I saw the infomercial I didn`t think it would work, but I gamve it a try anyways. It works GREAT!
It does exactly what you see on the infommercial.
Nothing has ever straightened my hair so perfectly. Buy it!

I SAW THE COMMERICAL AND LIKE EVERYONE ELSE THOUGHT THAT IT WOULDNT WORK.
I BOUGHT IT AND AFTER WASHING MY HAIR AND LETTING IT AIR DRY WHILE BRAIDED. I TOOK MY BRAIDS DOWN AND STRAIGHTENED MY HAIR. I WAS SO IMPRESSED THAT I SCREAMED TO MY HUSBAND "OH, MY GOODNESS." "IT`S BONE STRAIGHT." FOR ALL YOU AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN WITH THICK HAIR AND WANT THAT "RELAXED HAIR LOOK." THIS IS YOUR PRODUCT. AFTER BUYING IT, I HAVE NOT RETURNED TO THE SALON.

okay its FAST very fast. BUT you have to use it right. you must must go slooooow and steam 2 to 3 times per strand. if you go to fast it`ll dry your hair. but so far i love it.

The commercials just don`t do this thing justice!
I don`t think the creator (and promoter) understands how great his product is.
I have medium-coarse African-American hair that I chemically relax every two months.
I hate to blow dry my hair because of the potential for heat damage, its overly-drying effects, and frankly...the noise!
I often follow up this tiresome styling method with even more heat (a flat iron) to smooth the cuticle and give it a bit more shine.
Since I`ve bought this product, I simply let my hair air dry while I run errands and do housework and I use the Maxi-glide over 1/2" sections of my very thick hair once it is dry.
The result is always straight, shiny hair, with lots of bounce.
When I want to give it a bit more style I just tilt it a little as I pull away from my scalp and it creates a nice flip at the ends.
It has eliminated up to 3 steps (blow-dry, flat iron, curl) on my styling routine.
All this and I have never burned my very delicate scalp.

My hair dresser suggested maxiglide for my
daughter`s hair and it worked great. My daughter is bi-racial and has her dads thick extremely curly hair.
I was ready to relax my daughter`s hair but I`d rather invest in the maxiglide. Unfortuately, they have been out of stock for the last 3 weeks. You do need to detangle your hair first, pins are not meant to detangle.

I have very thick, wavy, mixed hair and this flat iron has worked better than anything I have ever tried. I LOVE the fact that I don`t have to blow dry my hair first. So far I have only used it without the steam so I am anxious to see what the result will be when I use the steam feature. Great investment!

Sucks & Not worth the Money

I purcahsed mine on 6/9/06, and within 30 days the ceramic permanent plate started to peel.
I use my product on 5, I don`t like the teeth plate, that does not help detangle your hair, if you ask me it makes your hair more rougher, the Flat plate is the best, and the only one I use.
I have since had to buy a Conair Straightner.
I have also called a local major news station in the philadelphia area, and I made an appointment to meet with the Consumer Watcher for our area.
I provided her pics of the damage on my straightner, I provided her with my receipt, as well as all the names of the people I spoke with at Maxius, and we are going to have them investigated.
It seems that Max the developer of the product, did not think of the ceramic coating.
I will say that Vidal Sassoon & Conair make a great 2" starightner for $ 19.99.
I use to use them before Maxi came out, and I was able to use theirs for at least 3 months before their coating starting peeling.

I was not impressed with Maxiglide.
I have thick hair that`s very wavy.
It took me twice as long to straighten my hair with Maxiglide and the result was straight but also frizzy looking-- not smooth or silky. The Wigo Ceramic straightening iron and the Hai straightening iron worked much better on my type of hair in half the time.

Love it!!!
I`ve been fighting with regular flat irons forever and lost ever time.
Maxiglide has saved my hair and is easy to use.
