I'm a bit of a cleaning junkie, so when the Swivel Sweeper cordless cleaning tool came on the market, I was like a kid on Christmas.
Assembly for the Swivel Sweeper is easy, you just snap the pole sections together and snap that into the head.
Unfortunately you do have to wait 8 hours for the battery to charge before using it for the first time.
This little sweeper works great on floor and carpet.
I especially love to use it on my bath mat -- no more shaking, and impossible to use a vacuum on because the rug won't stay on place.
The sweeper is also a DREAM for baseboards and corners; it really gets all the way to the edge and gets the dirt out. The 360 degree swivel design allows you to get around and right up to things like furniture legs and edges.
There are no bags with the Swivel Sweeper, it traps all the dirt in the little tray that you simply snap open and empty.
It comes with a little cleaning brush to get all the gunk out of the tray so you don't have to touch it.
I like this because (1)No yucky bags, (2) I can look in the little tray and know that it really worked at picking up the dirt (3)No dusty kickbacks like you get from some bagged vacuums.
Overall, this is a great little sweeper.
The only cons are it is the dirt tray is a little small, so for large or especially dirty jobs, you may have to empty the tray in the middle.
Some say the battery life on this is sub-par, however, more than 6 months after I got mine, it still works great (I dare say it works more than my husband).
Just be sure to never charge the sweeper for more than 24 hours -- 6 to 8 should do the trick, and once charged it will hold for some time.
As we battery chargers know, charging the battery for longer can damage it's integrity.

No need to lug a bulky vacuum out for small projects

Cleaning lady

I own a small cleaning service and this sweeper cut my cleaning time dramatically. I haven`t had problems with battery life even though I bought an additional battery from the start for my business. I`ve had mine for only a month but I love it. I can hold my 5mos. old baby and clean at the same time. I couldn`t imagine using a heavy vacuum or broom again. It got my lazy teenager to finally clean the kitchen floor. I just wish the charger indicated when the battery was fully charged to prevent overcharging it.

Pole and Battery Housing Issues

I like the way it works at cleaning up the cat hair on my stairs, however after just under a month of usage the pole came apart at the top and then a couple of weeks later the battery housing has come loose on the pole while I was carefully removing the battery from the housing. Very annoying and disappointing. I hope the company can help me with this issue, otherwise I`ll have to struggle with a large bulky vaccum on my stairs.

Battery issues

I like using this product as I find it does do a good cleaning job, but after only 5 months of use, the battery does not hold a charge.
I thought it was just mine until I read some of the other reviews.
If you can afford to keep buying batteries then this product is for you.
But if you cannot, don`t run out and buy one.

I loved this machine and highly recommended it until 5 months of use and the batterywould not hold a charge.
At $15.00 for a battery plus shipping, it`s too expensive.

I LOVE this sweeper. It is awsome. My son had dumped my plant on the carpet and I tried to vaccum it up. But the vacuum left the dirt ground into the floor and my husband decided to get the swival out on it and guess what, it cleaned it all up and there was no dirt spot or anything. I use it every day. It cleans up all our messes. A GREAT BIG Thank you to the makers of Swival.

I bought the swivel yesterday. Basically this tool works well as the TV ad shows. But one of my disappointments is that it sometimes leaves slight scratches on the flooring surface.
Anyway, this tool is very interesting.

I love it because it is great for pick up dog & cat hair plus loose gravel which are my biggest concern in my house. It swivel smoothly & easy -making cleaning quiet enjoyable. It gets loose dirt right to the edge of the walls and under furniture nicely. I can not imagen going back to the broom or the heavy vacuum ever again. I`m hook on it cause it is very easy & convenient. I would give it a perfect 5 stars if it wasn`t for the downside (you do have to clean the brushes at least 1-2 a week and battery life is an issue). Hope this review helps in your buying decision.

I just spent 1/2 hour finding a replacement part for one I lost.
This is not to be used in place of a real vacuum, but is great for quick, daily, spot cleaning.
Its perfect for my tiled kitchen and great on wood floors.
I have four cats and it picks up the hair without any fuss.
I use it twice or more times a day and give it a thorough clean every three.
Its lightweight and much easier than dragging out the corded vac.
Its manueverability is awesome!

Good for about a month

After installing new wood floors I purchased a Swivel Sweeper for light dusting and for picking up dog hair. I immediately noticed that it became tangled with the hair so I had to pre-sweep before using it. That worked for about a month and then one of the brushes stopped spinning. I cleaned it thoroughly again and after re-charging tried it one more time. Another brush promptly failed. Needless to say, I am profoundly disappointed in this product and I`m waiting to hear from the company regarding a replacement or refund. It`s now sitting unused in my closet.

I owned the Swivel Sweeper for four months, but actually only used it for three months because the pole broke after two days. It took a month and three emails to get a new pole from Ontel.
NOW, after three months of use, the battery is dead.
Purchasing a new battery costs $21, so generally, I`d have to spend $84 a year for just batteries ($21 four times a year), not including other replacement parts.
Rechargeable batteries could be and should be made to last significantly longer than three months.
The [intentionally] poorly engineered battery life is a financial benefit to Ontel Products, because the consumer has to buy new batteries every 3 months just to use it.
This is a very unethical business practice.
Rechargeable battery technology has been improved dramatically in the last twenty years, hence, Ontel could definitely extend the life of the rechargeable battery, but they won`t because they want more of your money after you buy it.
Looking around for a more reliable cordless sweeper and throwing away my Swivel Sweeper.

In the promos it shows them going over a large amount of ie) dirt ....in one swipe....NOT TRUE !
On my hardwood floors, I had to go over my child`s mess 3 + times for it to pick it all up.
Not well made for the price paid.
I will be returning mine.
P.S. It is LOUD, will wake a baby !

The Swivel Sweeper is good for people that like to go over floors more than once. It is not perfect. For example, hair tangles on to the brush part, and you would have to use a tooth pick brush to untagle it. Also it is not as quiet as the ad says and it will most definitely wake up babies.

This sweeper is without a doubt lightweight.
Perfect for small jobs.
However I`m not overly impressed.
The brushes kick the dirt/dust into the tray but I find some particals get kicked back out.
So if you don`t mind going over areas again and again this sweeper is fine for you.
Does not seem to get as close to chair legs etc as the ad says it does.

this product is as amazing. i have spirl stairs that are carpeted, the cat hair would flock to the corners. Lugging the big vaccume up the steps was too much work to keep up with it, this product keeps me on top of it. My home is finally clean!

VERY easy to use

After moving dust around with my broom I decided to try something new and went with the swivel. I am SO glad i did. My cleaning time has been cut in half and it is so easy to use and works anywhere, the floors in my house look great now!
